Hexal is a modal text editor that aims for feature parity with Helix. The author started the project because Helix had not added plugin support, which limited its extensibility, and because Helix lacked several features the author found useful. Hexal supports plugins written in Lua.
Hexal is written in C# with NLua as its only dependency. Distributed builds are self-contained and bundle the .NET 9.0 runtime. They are not AOT compiled, and AOT compatibility is still in progress.
