PrivateTranscribe is a Windows application that converts speech to text using OpenAI's Whisper model running locally on your machine. Press a hotkey to start dictation, speak, and text appears directly in your active application. Audio processing happens on your PC by default, with cloud transcription available as an optional alternative.
The Starter plan is free and includes 1,000 words daily, all Whisper model options, CUDA acceleration support, customizable hotkeys, auto-paste functionality, and local transcription history. Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the daily word limit. Beta features require separate tester approval.
