Roush is a clipboard history tool for macOS. Its creator started using Raycast mainly for its paste history feature, then noticed high memory usage while profiling it and set out to build a tool that does only paste history, aiming for better performance.
The project went through several attempts, starting with Tauri, then GPUI, and finally native AppKit code, with Claude assisting. The product page states that Roush idles at 16 MB.
