It combines an EPUB reader with a Japanese text parser and built-in dictionary, allowing users to perform tap-to-lookup word searches without any setup. The platform also includes features for flashcard creation and spaced repetition reviews.

Additionally, Sigmajp features a built-in explain button powered by an LLM. This tool translates sentences and explains their underlying grammar on demand. Users can also ask follow-up questions to get further clarification on sentences.
