Stegano is an open-source generative art project for hiding messages in plain sight. Its shapes are inspired by fingerprints. The name comes from steganography, the art of concealing messages within ordinary-looking content.

The author developed the scheme in 2020, before the LLM era, as a graphical method that humans can decipher without computers while remaining non-trivial and novel. The author is now open-sourcing the code from that project. Full details are at stegano.graphics.
